The One City Approach brings together a huge range of public, private, voluntary and education sector partners within Bristol to work together on city challenges and set out long term ambitions for our city. The approach is enabled by the City Office, a key enabling hub to support and coordinate city resources and assets.

City Funds is working to transform Bristol by funding solutions that target the causes and effects of inequality. A partnership between Quartet Community FoundationBristol & Bath Regional Capital (BBRC) & Bristol City Council , City Funds uses its £10 million investment fund and aligned grants to strengthen organisations solving some of the biggest challenges facing Bristol.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to this award winning, civic led, place based, funding initiative in Bristol.

What is required

The City Funds Governing Board is seeking pro-bono / voluntary support in defining, monitoring and regular reporting on financial and non-financial Key Performance Indicators.

This would involve working with the Finance Director of BBRC and a representative from both City Office & Quartet Community Foundation to ensure that the collaboration is resulting in positive and measurable progress against the City Funds vision.

Who are we looking for?

  • A qualified or part qualified accountancy professional who is keen use their skills and experience to contribute to society in a positive way. The person will either represent their employer at a strategic level or volunteer independently.

 

  • A business or individual who can offer around 6 – 7 hours per month on a flexible basis to fit their circumstances, although this would include some time during standard working hours to interface with the partners.

 

  • An initial commitment over a 6-month period with potential to either extend or handover the opportunity to another employee on mutual agreement.
